RGB Cube Lights Color-Changing Landscape and Event Cubes, Professionally Installed

RGB cubes are solid, glowing geometric fixtures that sit at ground level and wash color across the space around them along a walkway, around a pool deck, at the base of a tree line, or clustered as a “cube garden” in an open lawn. Unlike a spotlight that points at something, a cube is the light source, which makes it as much a piece of décor by day as an effect by night. Lights Around installs Minleon RGB+ cubes as part of a full permanent lighting system, so they run on the same app and the same schedule as your roofline lighting and light bars.

RGB Cubes – Modern Color-Changing Décor in Five Sizes

Minleon RGB Cubes bring a bold, modern look to any space with soft, color-changing illumination that instantly elevates your home, business, or event décor. Available in five sizes ranging from 10 to 16 inches, these glowing cubes create a striking visual effect whether used indoors or outdoors.

Each cube produces smooth, vibrant color and can be synced with the rest of your permanent lighting system, flood lights, or other Minleon products. This allows your cubes to match your roofline lights, globes, landscape lighting, and seasonal displays for a fully coordinated look.

Place them along walkways, in outdoor seating areas, around pools, inside event spaces, or anywhere you want a modern lighting feature. The cubes can run in long sequences and be easily controlled through your lighting controller for simple access to unlimited colors, patterns, and moods.

Durable, weather-resistant, and low-maintenance, Minleon RGB Cubes are a beautiful way to add year-round color, ambiance, and architectural style to your property.

Pricing is for a 10 pack installed permanently within 100 foot area. Contact us for seasonal install pricing.

What RGB Cubes Are (and Where They Go)

Each cube is a sealed, weather-rated housing packed with RGB+ LEDs that can render any color in the spectrum, plus dynamic patterns — a slow fade, a chase down a walkway, a full-color sequence timed to music. They’re built for permanent outdoor placement, so they stay out through Virginia summers and winters without seasonal takedown. Most properties use them in odd-numbered clusters of three, five, or ten, spaced along a line of travel or grouped as a focal point. If you want the same color-changing effect overhead rather than at ground level, the RGB globes and spheres hang from trees and pergolas and run on the same controller.

Five Sizes, One Synchronized System

Cubes come in five sizes, and mixing them is what makes an installation look designed rather than dropped in place. Smaller cubes read as accent markers along a path edge; the largest work as standalone anchors flanking an entry, a patio, or a driveway apron. Because every cube shares the Minleon RGB+ chipset, a mixed-size layout still behaves as a single addressable system  one command, one color change, no fixture lagging a beat behind the others. That same chipset is why cubes drop cleanly into an existing Lights Around system instead of needing a separate controller and a second app.

Control, Color, and Scheduling

Everything runs from your phone. You set color, brightness, pattern, and speed, then build a schedule of warm white along the walkway from dusk to 11pm on ordinary nights, team colors on game day, red and green from Thanksgiving through New Year’s without anyone climbing a ladder. Cubes can be zoned separately from the roofline, so the house can hold one look while the landscape holds another. For installers and hobbyists running their own sequences, Minleon RGB+ cubes are compatible with xLights, Light-O-Rama, Art-Net, and sACN in addition to stock Minleon controllers  useful if you’re building a music-synchronized show rather than ambient lighting. Our year-round lighting page covers how the scheduling side works across the whole system.

Where RGB Cubes Work Best

Cubes earn their place where light needs to come from the landscape rather than be aimed at it:

  • Walkways and paths — spaced cubes mark the route without the harsh cone of a path spike.
  • Pool decks and patios — low, glare-free color that photographs well and doesn’t blind swimmers.
  • Driveway entries and property lines — a matched pair reads as a gatepost at night.
  • Lawn “cube gardens” — a cluster of mixed sizes as a standalone feature on an open lawn.
  • Commercial frontage and outdoor seating — restaurants and venues use cubes to define a patio boundary; see the full commercial lighting range.
  • Music-synchronized displays — cubes hold color at ground level while the roofline runs the sequence above.

Pairing cubes with permanent patio lighting is the most common request we get for backyard projects: bistro strings overhead, cubes at the perimeter, both on one schedule.

RGB Cubes for Events and Seasonal Displays

Not every project is permanent. Cubes are also available as a short-term rental for weddings, corporate events, festivals, and grand openings, where they work as lighted markers along an aisle, as low seating-height accents around a lounge area, or as color anchors flanking a stage. Rental sets arrive pre-programmed to your color palette and are installed and removed by our crew. Browse the full rental inventory or see recent installations in the photo gallery.

What's Included in an RGB Cube Installation

Every installed RGB cube project includes an on-site design consultation and layout plan, the cubes and mounting hardware, all low-voltage wiring and transformer work run and concealed, controller integration with any existing Lights Around system, app setup with your first scenes and schedules built with you, and cleanup and a walkthrough at handoff. Cubes run on 24V, so the wiring is low-voltage and safe around lawns, pets, and pool areas but it still needs a proper transformer and a nearby power source, which we confirm during the site visit.

What RGB Cubes Cost in Virginia

RGB cube installations start at $3,800 for a ten-cube set placed within roughly a 100-foot area, including design, wiring, controller integration, and app setup. Final pricing depends on cube count and sizes, how far the run is from a power source, and whether the cubes are joining an existing system or being installed with one. Because the fixtures are permanent, the cost is one-time rather than annual  the same math that makes a permanent system replace seven to ten years of seasonal installs. Most homeowners adding cubes to existing Lights Around lighting land well under the starting figure, since the controller and transformer are already in place.

RGB Cube Installation Across Central and Northern Virginia

Lights Around installs RGB cubes from our Locust Grove base across Fredericksburg, Culpeper, Spotsylvania, Orange County, Richmond, Charlottesville, Woodbridge, Loudoun County, and Fairfax. Site conditions vary a lot across that footprint  a Loudoun County property with an irrigated lawn needs different wiring routing than a Richmond patio on a concrete slab  so every project starts with an on-site walk before we quote. Frequently Asked Questions

Can RGB cubes stay outside year-round?

Yes. They’re sealed, weather-rated fixtures designed for permanent outdoor installation — no seasonal takedown, no storage.

If your system is Minleon-based, yes. Cubes join the same controller and appear as their own zone in the app, so you can run them independently of the roofline.

Most walkway runs use five to ten cubes; a lawn feature or entry pair can be as few as three. Spacing depends on cube size and how continuous you want the light to feel  that’s what the design consultation determines.

They run on 24V low-voltage power and stay cool to the touch, which is why they’re common around pool decks and patios.

Yes rental sets are available for weddings, corporate events, and festivals, delivered pre-programmed to your colors.

Bright enough to read as a light source and provide walkway visibility, but diffused rather than directional — they glow rather than throw a beam.
