The Piece Everyone Stops to Photograph
Six feet tall, color-changing, and impossible to walk past without pulling out a phone.
Giant light-up bulbs work because they invite people in rather than just decorating around them. A family stops, a group poses, someone posts it with your location tagged, and the display keeps working long after they’ve left. Shopping centers use them to hold evening traffic. Downtown districts use them to give people a reason to park and walk. Venues use them to give guests something to gather around.
We supply, install, program, service, remove and store them across Central and Northern Virginia. You choose the placement and the colors. We handle everything else, and they live in our warehouse the other ten months of the year.
What You're Getting
Each bulb stands six feet tall with full RGB color-changing lighting, which means the color isn’t fixed at purchaseย it’s programmed and can change on a schedule. Red and green through December, your brand colors for a corporate event, school or team colors for a game night, pink through October if your property runs a breast cancer awareness campaign.
They’re built for outdoor commercial use and hold up through a Virginia winter. Because they run on the same control approach as our other commercial pieces, a property with bulbs, a tower tree and a light tunnel can have all of it changing color together rather than three displays doing three different things.
How Many Do You Need?
Almost nobody installs one. The bulbs work as a group, and the number depends on what the space is doing.
Three to five โ an entrance, a courtyard, or a single photo spot. This is the most common starting point for a restaurant, hotel or office property, and it’s enough to create one clear place where people stop.
Six to ten โ a plaza, a main walkway or a shopping center concourse. At this count you can create a path rather than a point: a run of bulbs that draws people along a route and gives them several places to stop.
Ten or more โ downtown blocks, town greens, light trails and large retail centers. At this scale the bulbs become part of the route design, often paired with a tower tree as the anchor at one end.
Send us photos of the space and rough dimensions and we’ll tell you what number actually worksย including if that number is smaller than you were expecting. Our photo gallery shows installations at a few different scales.
Placing Them So They Actually Get Used
A few things separate a display people photograph from one they walk past.
Put them where people already stop. Entrances, plaza corners, the top of a walkway, near seating. A beautiful piece in a low-traffic corner of the parking lot does nothing.
Leave room to stand in front. People need space to back up and frame a shot. Bulbs pushed tight against a wall or a planter get admired and not photographed.
Think about the evening, because that’s when the traffic is. Most holiday foot traffic happens after dark, which is exactly when these do their best work. We check the surrounding light levels during the site visitย a bulb placed under a bright parking lot fixture loses most of its impact.
Give people a reason to come back. Scheduled color changes, a different scheme for a tree-lighting night or a shopping event, and the display stops being static. That’s the part most properties don’t ask for and every property likes once they have it.
What's Included
- Delivery to your site
- Placement and professional installation
- Secure anchoring appropriate to the surface, whether grass, asphalt or concrete plaza
- Electrical connection and controller setup
- Color programming, including scheduled scenes and event-specific schemes
- In-season maintenance โ if something goes dark in December, we come out
- Takedown and removal in January
- Off-season storage in our warehouse
You store nothing and repair nothing. That’s the difference between renting and buying, and it’s why most of our commercial customers renew rather than purchase.
What It Costs and When to Book
Pricing depends on quantity, placement complexity, how long the display stays up, and whether the bulbs are part of a larger scheme. Grouped installations price better per piece than a single unit, so it’s worth telling us the whole picture rather than pricing one bulb at a time.
Every project gets a site visit and a written proposal covering installation, programming, in-season service, removal and storage as one number. Request a quote and we’ll set that up.
On timing: commercial holiday inventory books early, and the properties that get the display they wanted are the ones that started in spring or summer. If you’re working to a budget cycle that closes before the season, come to us early and we’ll get you a written number to submit.

Who These Work For
Shopping centers and retail plazas, downtown districts and main street programs, town and county governments, HOAs and residential communities, hotels and resorts, wineries and event venues, hospitals and campuses, and corporate properties.
Most projects combine pieces. Bulbs read best alongside something with height โ a commercial tower tree as the anchor, giant illuminated stars and custom figures for variety, and a walk-through light tunnel if you want people moving along a route. The full range is on our commercial lighting page.
If your property wants lighting that works all year rather than one season, permanent lighting puts a controllable system on the building once and runs it for every holiday.
We carry commercial liability coverage and can provide a certificate of insurance naming your organization as additional insured, which most retail, municipal and property-management contracts require. Details are on our insurance page.
Where We Install
We deliver and install commercial holiday displays throughout Central and Northern Virginia from our warehouse in Locust Grove, including:

Frequently Asked Questions
How tall are they?
Six feet. Tall enough that an adult standing next to one reads as part of the picture, which is what makes them work as a photo spot.
Can we choose the colors?
Yes, and you can change them. The bulbs are RGB, so colors are programmed rather than fixed, and we can schedule different schemes for different dates.
Do we have to rent them by the hour?
No. Commercial installations are booked for the season โ typically installed in November and removed in January. Short-term event rentals are possible, but the season-long install is what most properties want.
What kind of power do they need?
Far less than a tower tree. We confirm what’s available during the site visit and handle the connection, including temporary distribution if your existing outlets don’t reach.
Will they survive the weather?
They’re built for outdoor commercial use and stay out through the season. Wind, rain, snow and ice are all normal operating conditions.
How are they secured on concrete or asphalt?
With ballast rather than ground anchors. Nothing penetrates the surface. On grass we anchor into grade.
ย
What if one stops working in December?
ย We come out and fix it. In-season maintenance is included.
Can you make a custom piece?
Yes see giant illuminated stars and custom light figures, where we build to spec.
ย
Do you provide a certificate of insurance?
Yes. Details are on our insurance page, and we can turn one around quickly during procurement.
Start Your Display
Tell us the property, roughly where you’re picturing the bulbs, and when you need them lit. We’ll do a site visit, work out placement and power, and send a written proposal covering the season.
Our light will delight. That’s the mission, and on a commercial project it means the display is lit on the night you promised it would be, and stays lit.
