How many feet of roof line does my house need?
Most single-story homes fall between 75 and 175 feet, most two-story homes between 175 and 275 feet, and homes that need the full 400 feet are typically large two-story properties with multiple rooflines, a garage wing and side returns. You do not need to measure it yourself — submit a quote and our team measures from your address and sends back the footage with a proposed design within 48 hours.
Will the installation damage my roof or gutters?
No. Roof line lights are attached with clips designed for shingles and gutters, with no nails, screws or staples going into the house. Nothing is drilled and nothing is fastened permanently, which is the main difference between a seasonal package like this one and a permanent lighting system.
What happens if a section goes out during the season?
Call us and we come out. In-season service is part of the package price, so there is no service charge for a strand that fails, a clip that comes loose in wind, or a section that gets knocked out of line. You never need to get on a ladder.
Who takes the lights down, and when?
We do, in January. Takedown is included in every quote, and so is off-season storage — your strands are cut to your roof, so we keep them and reinstall the same set next season rather than starting over.
How far in advance should I book?
Book as early as you can. Installation runs from late October through early December, and the largest packages take the longest to install, so those dates go first. Homes that book in September and early October get their choice of date.
Can I change colors next year?
Yes. Because the package is a seasonal rental rather than a purchase, you can switch from warm white to candy cane or any other combination the following year without buying new lights. If you want to change colors within a single season, ask about the color-changing C9 upgrade instead.
